Caroline + Maikol's // A Fantastical Wedding

Caroline isn’t your typical bride. She came to us with a beautiful vision of her wedding day, one filled with inspirations like the ocean, sea creatures, pirates, and from movies and tv shows like Dr. Who, Game of Throne, Harry Potter, and many more. These were things that Caroline and Maikol, her fiancé, both loved. She also had an idea for her wedding dress and cape would look like. She wanted a dress that reminded her of the ocean because she grew up with the ocean as her backyard, and a Game of Throne-esque cape to match Maikol's Jon Snow fur cloak.

Together with Caroline, we designed this beautiful A-line dress with strands of water bubble-like sequins and pearl beadings on her V-shaped neckline bodice. One of the most extraordinary parts of this dress, besides the wave like pattern on her skirt lace, is that the strands of beading are unattached from the waist down because the bride wanted them to move freely as she walked and danced. To top off this magical wedding dress, we made this gorgeous tulle cape with shell-like medallions layered down from each of her shoulders, and an open back that mirrored her dress. She looked like a princess from a fairy tale walking down the aisle next to Maikol.

Her unique vision of their wedding, and of her wedding dress, set herself apart from other brides. Seeing how gorgeous her wedding looked, she taught us to not be afraid to trust our own taste and challenge what hasn’t been challenged before. She had set an example to many newly engaged couples that your wedding does not have to be typical, like many others. Create a wedding that is truly yours, a day filled with magic and love and fun!
